NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans’ regional airline GLO has announced it will suspend all flights starting Saturday, July 15.
The New Orleans Advocate’s Richard Thompson reports the suspension of service is because of an ongoing dispute with GLO Airlines’ operator Tennessee-based Corporate Flight Management (CFM).
The third party firm supplies GLO’s leased 30-passenger Saab 340 twin-engine commuter planes that fly nonstop to and from New Orleans, Memphis, Little Rock, Shreveport, Huntsville and Destin-Fort Walton Beach.
Thompson reports GLO alleged CFM was unable to staff flights and maintain the aircrafts to GLO’s standards and specifications.
“I started GLO to deliver a superior product to my hometown and other worthy local markets, and I refuse to settle for anything less,” GLO Founder and CEO Trey Fayard said in a statement Tuesday. “We look forward to returning to all markets and expanding further once the right partner is found.”
Thompson reports CFM reps said the relationship soured because GLO, which filed for bankruptcy in April, failed to timely pay for parts and fuel.
GLO’s Fayard said the airline is looking for a new operator to supply its fleet and will offer refunds to passengers who will be affected by the suspension.
