NEW ORLEANS – The 2016 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl announced famed former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason will serve as keynote speaker at the annual luncheon on Friday, Dec. 16, and the Gin Blossoms and Better Than Ezra will headline the Friday Night Concert.
The 16th Annual R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the New Orleans Marriott, 555 Canal St.
Known around the world for his fight against ALS and beloved in the State of Louisiana for his infamous blocked punt against the Atlanta Falcons in 2006, Gleason will serve as keynote speaker for the luncheon and share his inspirational story with luncheon attendees.

Following the 2016 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Luncheon, the events continue with the sixth annual Friday Night Concert at 7:00 p.m. in Champions Square. The Gin Blossoms and Better Than Ezra will take the stage with a memorable performance for all. The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Friday Night Concert is free and open to the public.
The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Luncheon and Friday Night Concert will begin the fan-centered events surrounding the 2016 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. The 2016 game will be played Saturday, Dec. 17, at 8:00 p.m. CST in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Creating an estimated annual economic impact of $25 million for the city of New Orleans, this year’s matchup will again include a representative from the Sun Belt Conference against a Conference USA opponent.
