NEW ORLEANS – A disaster of some type strikes your business. Do you have a plan in place and adequate insurance coverage? That's a great start, but now what?
Owners of small to medium sized businesses and those in leadership and risk management roles for their business are invited to attend the next GEB University free seminar, “Disaster Preparedness For Your Business,” that will take place Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Gillis, Ellis & Baker, 1615 Poydras St., Suite 700, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m..
Discussion will include types of disasters businesses may one day face, resources needed to get back up and running, how to communicate with employees, clients and vendors and more.
Refreshments will be provided.
The seminar will be presented by Doug Mills, Chief Operating Officer, Gillis, Ellis & Baker.
Mills oversees ongoing systems and procedures at GEB, ensuring financial strength and operating efficiency. He began his insurance career in 1981 in a family owned agency, and has been with GEB since 2001. He returned to school in 1982-83 to earn a degree in Risk Management & Insurance from The College of Insurance in New York City (now part of the Peter J. Rubin College of Business at St. John's University). In his insurance career, Mills has worked as both an independent agent and a direct writer, as well as in the role of a producer and a field underwriter. He earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1988, and is a graduate of Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University.
Validated parking is available in the parking garages at 1615 Poydras and 1555 Poydras. Metered street parking is also available.
GEB University seminars are free, however, registration is required. Registration is limited and spots tend to fill up quickly.
