METAIRIE, LA – Today, Gardner Realtors will be loading up a 25-foot trailer at its home office in Metairie, 3332 N. Woodlawn Ave., at 3:30 p.m., with donations collected throughout the week.
Chip Gardner, the firm’s vice president of operations and special initiatives, will be driving the donations to Houston and distributing them to real estate partners John Daugherty Realtors and Heritage Texas, who will help hand out the items to people in need.
Gardner Realtors, a leading local, full-service real estate company in the Metro New Orleans, Greater Baton Rouge and Mississippi Gulf Coast regions, collected supplies on Friday, Sept. 1, at its 24 offices located throughout the city, for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Items requested included:
• Clean clothes for adults and children
• Shoes
• Socks
• Linens/ towels
• New toiletries
• New underwear
• Diapers
• Baby formula
• Cleaning supplies and detergent
• Bulk food (no electricity-friendly items)
• Feminine hygiene products
• Pet food
• Pet shampoo
• Water
• Gift cards
• Encouraging letters to hurricane victims and first responders
Gardner Realtors reps said in 2005 our neighbors came to our aid when Hurricane Katrina displaced us from our communities. These hospitable friends – and sometimes strangers – opened up their hearts and homes. Now, it’s our turn to give back to our neighbors in Texas, they said.
