NEW ORLEANS – Immediately following the tornado outbreak on Tuesday, Feb. 7, Gardner Realtors responded with a grassroots effort to collect donations for tornado victims through its “Gardner Love Anything Drive.”
Realtors in 23 local Gardner offices across the metro New Orleans area coordinated donations, collecting thousands of items including clean clothes, shoes, cleaning supplies, food, water and monetary donations. Realty reps said thanks to the generosity of the local community and a partnership with Pur[SHOE]ing Joy, Gardner was able to put together more than 100 care packages for New Orleans East tornado victims.
“The comfort of a safe place to call home is something everyone should have and many take for granted,” Crystal Gardner said. “Gardner Realtors is committed to giving back to the local community. Like a good neighbor, we are committed to helping pick up the pieces when our fellow community members’ homes and lives are devastated by natural disasters.”
The Gardner team collaborated with Pur[SHOE]ing Joy to set up a pick up station for care packages at Gardner’s New Orleans East office on Valentine’s Day. Realtors also went out into the surrounding neighborhood, delivering care packages and essentials in person to individuals and families whose homes had been damaged or destroyed.
