NEW ORLEANS – Dignity Memorial New Orleans has announced the appointment of CC Morter as a funeral director for its greater New Orleans area properties, primarily serving families at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Marrero and Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in Metairie.
“We are so pleased to welcome CC Morter who brings a wealth of experience and deep ties to the New Orleans Hispanic community,” said Huey Campell, market director for Dignity Memorial New Orleans. “Already enhancing our ability to reach and serve our local Spanish-speaking families, she is a wonderful addition to our team.”
Hailing from Miami, Morter owes her Spanish language skills to her father who was born in Puerto Rico. She moved to New Orleans in 1993 and worked as a residential realtor for more than 20 years before transitioning into the funeral industry. In 2018, Morter earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in funeral service from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas, and then returned to New Orleans, where she worked as funeral director, embalmer and crematory operator for a local funeral home company from 2019 to 2023.
“I am excited to join the team of long-established funeral directors at Dignity Memorial New Orleans,” said Morter. “My personal and professional mission is to ensure the Spanish-speaking community across greater New Orleans has access to end-of-life planning resources, and I am devoted to helping people during what is often their greatest time of need.”
Morter is a mother of three children, now adults, and resides in Kenner.
