NEW ORLEANS – Fund 17 will host a Spring Entrepreneur Showcase on Thursday, May 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the at Southern Rep Theatre (2541 Bayou Road). The showcase will feature the nine ventures currently receiving support through Fund 17’s business program, Be the Boss Accelerator, and include business exhibitions, entrepreneur presentations, a bar, and a musical performance by local artist Sava Wolf.

“We started hosting the entrepreneur showcase event last year as part of our community building goals,” said Antonio Alonzo, program director at Fund 17. “We’re looking for business leaders of all sorts to come network with the entrepreneurs in the accelerator, and hopefully find their next business partner or local vendor.”
Varying in industries of creative, tech, wellness, childcare, and apparel, the exhibiting businesses are Box of Care, DCAP Media, Designum Technologies, La Escuelita, NOLA Massage Therapy, A Rare Jewel Apparel, Tia Nash Photography, Totally Fit Physique, and Visionary Entertainment Media Group.
The event is free and open to the community. Attendees are encouraged to donate through the event page to fund an audience choice award for one of the showcased ventures.
The Be the Boss Accelerator prepares entrepreneurs poised to take their hustle full-time and/or expand their team to grow from business operator into business owner. Entrepreneurs receive ten weeks of education and one-on-one assistance in cultural design, organizational structure, HR essentials, accounting for growth, leadership and management. The ventures receive weekly consulting from trepwise, the accelerator’s lead partner.
“These entrepreneurs have been working diligently to turn their dreams into reality. Through technical training in finance, operations, and marketing, they are establishing themselves as business leaders in our community,” said Lauren Siegel, lead mentor and advisor at trepwise. “ The showcase is a chance for the cohort to show off their knowledge at the most inclusive event in entrepreneurship this season.”
Fund 17 partnered with several other organizations in running the accelerator, including 30|90 Marketing, Ashley M. Stevens, Bolster, Cloreece Knight, CPA; Follow the Hummingbird Consulting, PBC; James Lambert Consulting, LCIWC, NINE30, Risk Strategies, Systems for Scale, and Theresa Hollander – State Farm Insurance Agent.
