Free Tax Help Available For Low-Income Taxpayers

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Loyola University New Orleans College of Law will provide free tax preparation help for people with low to moderate incomes.

         The sessions for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program begin Monday and continue through Thursday, April 9. The sessions are Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

         The program will also be held at the Community Center of St. Bernard Parish in Arabi. Sessions take place 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 7, 21 and 28 and March 14, 21 and 28.

         Taxpayers will need to bring government issued IDs, Social Security cards for every person included on the tax returns, all tax documents including W-2 and 1099 forms and Social Security statements.
