Free Health Screenings For Retired NFL Players Offered At Tulane Medical Center On Dec. 2

More than 50 retired players are set to participate in the NFL Player Care Foundation’s Healthy Body and Mind Screening

NEW ORLEANS – Prevention and early detection is key to maintaining good health. The NFL Player Care Foundation has partnered with the NFL Alumni Association and the Tulane University School of Medicine to conduct a Healthy Body and Mind Screening on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. – noon at Tulane Medical Center’s Professional Athlete Care Team (PACT) clinic at 1415 Tulane Ave.

This free, national screening program is open to all former NFL players and includes a series of private and confidential cardiovascular and prostate screenings, as well as mental health resources and education. More than 50 retired players are scheduled to take part. 

NFL Player Care Foundation screenings help to advance public awareness and scientific understanding of health issues that affect former NFL players.

Dr. Greg Stewart, head of PCF player screening program at Tulane University School of Medicine, will lead the effort. Tulane physicians screen more than 500 players a year through the program.
