NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Former U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite, Jr. has accepted a job at New Orleans-based Entergy Corp.
The company says the 41-year-old Polite started work Tuesday as the head of its legal, ethics and compliance department. Polite replaced Neal Jansonius, who recently announced his retirement.
The New Orleans Advocate’s Jessica Williams reports that Polite's move to the private sector was fast-tracked after Polite was forced from his job as top prosecutor for the Eastern District of Louisiana, a job he held for more than three years. President Donald Trump called for immediate resignations of many U.S. attorneys last month.
In a news release, Entergy's executive vice president and counsel, Marcus Brown, praised Polite's leadership experience and his commitment to local communities.
