COVINGTON, LA – Each September as the unique cultural heritage of South Louisiana is recognized, the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce holds a special luncheon to celebrate the important economic and quality of life contributions that this culture makes to our community.
Politics is certainly a part of Louisiana’s culture, especially during an election season.
This year’s luncheon, titled “The Silver Fox sponsored by the Silver Slipper Casino,” will feature former Governor Edwin Edwards.
The only 4-term governor of Louisiana, Edwards has always been known for his wit and Cajun charm. While loathed by some and revered by many, it’s undeniable that Edwards was and remains a colorful and legendary figure in Louisiana politics and history.
The luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Tchefuncta Country Club in Covington.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the main program starting at 12:00 p.m. Cost is $40 for Chamber members; $50 for non-members; and a table of 8 is available for $330.
