NEW ORLEANS – The Riverfront Alliance’s FIX THE CZO public meeting takes place tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., at Holy Angels, 3500 St. Claude Ave. (at Gallier Street).
The Riverfront Alliance said the City of New Orleans Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) needs many changes before it has the force of law, and those changes will protect fragile neighborhoods and citizens citywide from harmful, irreversible land use policies. They said thousands of residents would be negatively affected by the proposed zoning in the CZO’s current draft.
The meeting will be followed by an open discussion, and The Riverfront Alliance said they invited all City Council members to participate and respond to the public.
The Riverfront Alliance is made up of non-profit neighborhood organizations including The Algiers Point Association, The Faubourg Marigny Improvement Association, French Quarter Citizens, Inc., The Holy Cross Neighborhood Association, Neighbors First for Bywater and the Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates.
The Size Matters campaign continues as part of this initiative.
