NEW ORLEANS – The Riverfront Alliance of Neighborhood Organizations will host a second FIX THE CZO public meeting on proposed changes to the City of New Orleans Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (CZO) at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Holy Angels, 3500 St. Claude Ave., New Orleans.
The Alliance said core issues will be presented, an open discussion will follow and all City Council Members have been invited to participate and respond to the public.
The Alliance said mutual concerns with the draft CZO have unified several neighborhood organizations, speaking for the thousands of residents who will be negatively affected by proposed zoning. Changes to the draft CZO are necessary, before it has the force of law, they said, to protect fragile neighborhoods and citizens citywide from harmful, irreversible land use policies. The Size Matters campaign continues as part of this initiative.
The Riverfront Alliance is comprised of the following non-profit neighborhood organizations:
• Algiers Point Association
• Faubourg Marigny Improvement Association
• French Quarter Citizens, Inc.
• Holy Cross Neighborhood Association
• Neighbors First for Bywater
• Vieux Carré Property Owners, Residents and Associates
