First-Graders To Get Book This Christmas

LAKE CHARLES, LA (AP) — All first-graders in Calcasieu Parish will get a book this Christmas, free of charge.

KPLC-TV’s Haley Rush reports the Calcasieu Federation of Teachers applied for a grant to give the books to more than 2,000 students at all 36 elementary schools in the parish.

The books are for the students to keep and take home.
