About a year ago, my wife and I started looking for a place to escape. Running a business takes a lot of time and energy, so having the opportunity to take a brief hiatus from deadlines goes a long way toward happiness, success and wellbeing.
Six months ago, after much searching, we found the perfect little slice of paradise, a place to retreat and recharge the batteries in Bay St. Louis on the Jordan River. We make the short trip after the workweek comes to a close and call this place home, spending our weekends with friends and family.
We’ve officially named the place the “BayHouse,” and our time is spent enjoying a different style of life from being in the city. I never knew what I was missing until we began our trips to the BayHouse. After a weekend escape with family and friends, we are reenergized for the coming week and feel more ready for the day-to-day grind.
Bay St. Louis is just over an hour away, but it feels like a world apart from the city and work we have at home.
Find your retreat this summer, and if you happen to be cruising on the Jordan River, look for me. If it’s the weekend, I’ll be there.
