A banking tradition since 1910, First American Bank and Trust is living its mission to profitably deliver high quality customer service that meets the financial needs of its community, its businesses, and its citizens while maximizing shareholder value. The Bank offers innovative products equal to those of regional and national banks but with a personal, caring approach.
This personal, caring approach doesn’t apply only to First American Bank and Trust’s customers—it’s also the approach the Bank takes toward its employees. Last year, First American Bank and Trust was named ICBA’s “Best Community Bank to Work For” thanks to its unceasing commitment to its employees and the communities they serve.
The Bank’s approach is to treat its team like family. According to ICBA’s survey, 99 percent of First American Bank and Trust’s employees said that the bank encourages management to be accessible and visible, that leader- ship is compassionate and caring, and that the work environment reflects a balance of work and life.
“Building a teamwork attitude among our employees is one of our core values,” says Ronald J. Falgoust, President and CEO. This core value has resulted in an environment where employees make decisions to get the job done and work together to achieve not only their own goals but the goals of customers.
“We sincerely listen to our customers and provide the products that they need,” says Falgoust. “Decisions are made locally by people who care, and that makes all the difference.”
Today, First American Bank and Trust employees over 200 people with assets in excess of $1B. The Bank has grown from four offices in St. James Parish to a total of 25 offices across Southeast Louisiana with several offices in Jefferson and St. Tammany Parishes.
