Field Cut To 2 As SUNO Seeks To Replace Ukpolo

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Southern University System Board of Supervisors' Chancellor Search Committee has named the finalists who are seeking to replace Victor Ukpolo, who stepped down as leader of Southern University at New Orleans in June.

         SU System President-Chancellor Ray L. Belton will present the candidates for final interviews and consideration to the SU Board of Supervisors during its Oct. 28 meeting.

         Ukpolo is credited with helping SUNO recover from Hurricane Katrina. But low graduation rates and charges of mismanagement have plagued the campus.
