METAIRIE —Fat Boy’s Pizza said it will open a new location this fall in Covington at the intersection of Interstate 12 and Highway 21 across from Target.
“We’ve heard the calls from the Northshore,” owner Gabe Corchiani said. “We’ve wanted to be over there for a while because of the intense demand. Not only is our New York-style, thin crust pizza delicious, but it’s a unique conversation piece with a reputation that precedes it. We can’t wait to feed St. Tammany Parish and beyond.”
Established in early 2019, Fat Boy’s Pizza has been active in the community. In July 2019, the restaurant hosted a pizza-eating championship featuring world champion competitive eater Joey Chestnut and other top eaters. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fat Boy’s delivered pizzas to healthcare heroes working on the frontlines. Last month, Corchiani announced his second location, which will open in August across from Tiger Stadium.
“We dive into any community we serve 100 percent,” Corchiani said. “We support each other in good times and bad. That’s the Fat Boy’s mindset.”
Corchiani is planning more expansion announcements in the coming months.
“We’re not close to finished,” Corchiani said. “Stay tuned.”
