BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation has rescheduled and changed the location of the Ready to Run™ Louisiana Workshop, a campaign-training event for women. The event will now be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, and Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the LSU Lod Cook Alumni Center in Baton Rouge.
Ready to Run™ Louisiana will commence with a Louisiana Women of Power Reception on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 5:30 p.m.
Monies raised from this networking reception will benefit the LLWC Foundation's education and training initiatives for women and girls in Louisiana.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2015, two campaign training program tracks specifically tailored to the registrant's level of readiness will be held.
Track 1 will target those women who are immediately planning to run for office.
Track 2 will target those women who may have an interest in running for office in the future.
Sessions will provide advice and best practices from experts and current and former elected officials, provide a better understanding of party politics, teach on fundraising and media skills, give instructions on how to run for public office, inspire participants to launch a campaign and “get in the race” and share information on internet strategies for political campaigns.
The Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus is comprised of the women in the Louisiana Legislature, whose collective mission is to prepare the next generation of women leaders and serve as the premiere voice and leading monitor of issues, legislation and policies, which impact women. There are presently 17 women who serve in both the Louisiana Senate and the Louisiana House of Representatives combined.
The Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation is a non-profit corporation with an IRS designation of 501(c)(3). It is administered by the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus, which is comprised of women legislators currently serving in the Louisiana Legislature. The Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation's mission is to prepare and develop women leaders in Louisiana to be significant contributors and achievers in society.
