Q: What can you tell us about Kramer & Katz Dental?
We do whatever a patient needs to optimize their oral health. That may be something as routine as a dental cleaning or as complex as planning a full mouth reconstruction. Our focus is individualizing care to fit every patient’s specific needs.
Q: When did you launch?
We formed the partnership in 2017 and the practice was started by Dr. Kramer in 1984.
Q: How were you inspired to start your business?
I wanted to provide superior care and an exceptional experience for patients and was fortunate enough to meet my partner who had the same vision. Going to the dentist is often a source of anxiety or stress for patients and we try to minimize that by providing excellent preventive care and quality dentistry.
Q: What were the biggest obstacles and how were they overcome?
Being younger than my business partner and also having 2 small children presented challenges I had never had to face previously and could easily feel like too much newness at once. I quickly had to learn how to prioritize effectively and delegate the rest.
Q: What local resources have you used?
I have a great group of female dentists I went to dental school with who are all in similar positions and yet not directly competing for the same market. It is a great network of support and advice. I also get good insight from study clubs.
Q: What is your big focus right now?
My partner just retired from our practice to teach full time, so I am busier and have more responsibilities than ever before. The focus is all about balancing that while still providing the best possible care for our patients.
Q: What is the best advice you ever received?
I’m always willing to hear more advice so maybe I haven’t received it yet.
Q: What success have you had in the last year?
When my partner told me his plans to retire, I was honored to realize the confidence and trust he placed in me to leave his patients in my hands.
