A lot! It’s been a busy year at the largest mall in the Greater New Orleans area as Lakeside has welcomed one new retailer after another. As the regional director of retail leasing for the Feil Organization, New Orleans native Tricia Phillpott is the woman behind these wins — the person tasked with finding and securing new retailers. In this week’s BizTalks, we chat about the mall’s newest tenants, the art and science behind mall leasing, how Lakeside mall compares nationally and one interesting way it differs from any other.

Tricia Phillpott is a New Orleans native who joined who joined The Feil Organization in 2004. Over the course of her almost 22-year career with Feil, she’s worked as Lakeside’s marketing director, assistant general manager, leasing manager, and general manager. In 2021, she was named regional director of retail leasing, a role in which, she oversees the leasing of Lakeside Shopping Center, North Riverside Park Mall in Chicago and various other retail properties owned by Feil in the New Orleans area.
Her work in New Orleans includes re-leasing The Shops on 17th, doubling the size of the only Apple Store in the market, bringing the first Zara to the Gulf South, and leading negotiations with Apple, Anthropologie, Alo Yoga, Mango, Garage, Aritizia, Coach and countless other retailers.
