Episode 182: NOLA Needs an Attitude Adjustment, Part 1

Last October, BizNewOrleans.com featured an opinion piece by New Orleans native Frank Rabalais that hit back at the all-too-common negative attitude regarding life in the city. It quickly became one of our most popular reads.

In a conversation so involved we split it into two episodes, Rabalais expounds on his views that the evidence overwhelmingly shows that New Orleanians have plenty to be proud of. It’s time, he argues, that we start seeing the full picture.

Frank Rabalais joined Crescent Growth Capital as a tax credit consultant specializing in finance, marketing, strategic planning, and historic preservation consulting in October of 2008. From 2005 to 2008, Rabalais was a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, where he provided individual and small business clients with investment advisory services, identified insurance, cash management and business succession needs, and addressed retirement, tax and estate planning.

From 2002 to 2005, Rabalais worked in real estate, first as a property manager for Riverlake Properties, and then as a project analyst for the Design Build Group, where he authored historic tax credit and tax abatement applications, assisted in financial modeling for numerous proposed developments and helped with construction management. Rabalais also worked at the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans and the law firm of Degan, Blanchard & Nash before joining Riverlake in 2002.

Rabalais received his A.B. from the University of Chicago in 1997. From 1998 to 2004, he attended Tulane University School of Architecture and the University of New Orleans. He earned a Master of Preservation Studies (Historic Preservation) degree from Tulane in 2002 and a Master of Business Administration degree (Finance Concentration) from UNO in 2004.
