NEW ORLEANS – Entergy New Orleans will host an additional information session in New Orleans East to keep the community fully informed about the proposal for a modern, efficient and reliable electric generating facility, referred to as the New Orleans Power Station, organizers said.
The meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at New Orleans East Hospital. 5620 Read Blvd., from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Charles Rice, president and CEO of Entergy New Orleans, will present the latest information on the proposed New Orleans Power Station. Rice and other experts will answer questions from the public during the meeting.
The company’s current application renews the request for approval of the 226-megawatt combustion turbine and also presents an alternative proposal for a 128-megawatt unit composed of natural gas-fired reciprocating engines that would be constructed instead. If approved, either option will be located at Entergy’s existing Michoud plant site in an industrial area on the eastern edge of New Orleans.
Registration for the information session begins at 5:30 p.m.
