ABOUT
For more than a century, Entergy has powered life in its communities. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the introduction of their low-income customer initiative. Those twenty years have seen Entergy introduce highly effective, highly innovative methods of serving low-income customers, from the creation of the Entergy Charitable Foundation grant program, The Power to Care bill payment assistance program and their Earned Income Tax Credit refunds program during tax season. Entergy is marking 20 years of delivering solutions for customers in need.
WHY THEY GIVE
Entergy’s passion lies in helping the communities they serve and live in. That passion has inspired them to pursue innovative low-income programs, the Entergy Charitable Foundation, various economic development programs, environmental initiatives and company-wide support for employees’ volunteer and philanthropy efforts. Entergy believes that philanthropy is a part of the sustainable value they provide as a company, and that charitable giving, whether financially or through volunteering, is part of powering life in their communities.
METHODS
Each year, Entergy shareholders contribute $16 to $18 million in grants, reaching out to more than 2,000 nonprofit organizations throughout its four-state service territory. The company also offers numerous in-house programs dedicated to lifting up those customers of lower or fixed incomes, from their The Power to Care program to their Super Tax Day program and their Beat the Heat initiative.
MISSION
Entergy exists to grow a world-class energy business that creates sustainable value for their four stakeholders: customers, employees, communities and owners.
