NEW ORLEANS – Emily May has joined the team at Providence Community Housing as director of real estate development. She will oversee new construction, rehabilitation and recapitalizations.
May brings more than 20 years of construction industry experience, including project administration on a range of project types. Her areas of expertise include project management, public/private partnerships, federal funding processes, short-term and long-term development plans, and environmental studies. She has worked on funding applications, community engagement efforts, procurement of contracts, construction design, and construction activities, including vertical and infrastructure redevelopment of large, historic public housing developments in New Orleans.
“Emily is an important addition to the Providence team” said Terri North, president and CEO of Providence Community Housing. “She will be integral to our work as we continue to develop and preserve affordable homes throughout New Orleans and pursue new real estate development opportunities that ensure affordable, quality homes for seniors and families.”
May holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Louisiana State University.
