NEW ORLEANS — Emeril’s Homebase is pleased to announce the promotion of Ray Gumpert to general manager of Emeril’s New Orleans, Vernon Willis as general manager of Emeril’s Delmonico, and Taylor Terrebonne to sommelier at Emeril’s New Orleans.
Ray Gumpert
Gumpert, a more than 18-year veteran of Emeril’s Restaurants, joined Emeril’s family of restaurants as a busser at NOLA in 2000. In 2002, he assisted with the opening of Emeril’s Miami Beach and became assistant sommelier at Emeril’s Miami. He returned to New Orleans in 2008 to serve as a dining room manager at Emeril’s Delmonico, and soon thereafter was promoted to sommelier at Emeril’s Restaurant, where he has since presided over the restaurant’s Grand Award-winning cellar of nearly 1,900 selections and 10,000 bottles.
Vernon Willis
Willis, who has served as dining room manager at Emeril’s Delmonico since 2014, originally joined the Emeril’s family in 2002 as a busser at NOLA. Displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Willis returned to New Orleans in 2007 and was rehired as a front server at Emeril’s Delmonico, where he was quickly promoted to captain.
An Emeril’s team member since 2012, Terrebonne began as a busser, and in 2017, was promoted to dining room manager and private events manager, while also filling the role of assistant sommelier.
