Emerging Professional Council, Community Partners Aim To Make Impact On ‘Give Back To St. Bernard Day’

CHALMETTE, LA – The St. Bernard Chamber’s Emerging Professional Council is currently seeking local non-profits, businesses, governmental agencies, schools, neighborhood associations, and volunteer organizations to participate in Give Back to St. Bernard Day on Saturday, October 22, 2016. 

         This inaugural Day of Service is in conjunction with Make a Difference Day, a national initiative held annually on the fourth Saturday of October.  

         Organizations interested in participating are being asked to provide project information by submitting a Participant Information Form to The St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce no later than, Friday, October 7, 2016.

         Projects submitted will be compiled into a list and distributed to the general public and local media outlets. Organizations interested in partnering with other organizations or additional volunteers are welcome to contact the St. Bernard Chamber by email at info@stbernardchamber.org or phone at (504) 277-4001.

         Make a Difference Day was founded in 1992 and has grown into one the largest community service efforts in the nation. It is the intent of the Emerging Professional Council to encourage neighbors to help neighbors in service of St. Bernard Parish. This initiative is a grass roots approach to encourage neighborhoods to take ownership over their environment and create partnerships between residents and the businesses and agencies that serve them.

         The Emerging Professional Council is the young professional organization of the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce. The St. Bernard Chamber is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization dedicated to representing the interests of the St. Bernard business community, supporting the growth of the local economy, and partnering with local entities for the betterment of St. Bernard Parish. The St. Bernard Chamber provides ongoing opportunities to St. Bernard and the surrounding region to network, advocate on behalf of business, and develop professional and leadership skillsets that enhance our local business environment.
