Ecole Bilingue Names New Assistant Principal

NEW ORLEANS – Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans has named Pierre-Loic Denichou as Assistant Principal.

         Denichou joins Ecole Bilingue from Lycée International de Los Angeles (LILA) in California where he has served as the Academic Coordinator for preschool to eighth grade since 2013. Previous to that, he was the French Program coordinator at LILA, working on their four campuses performing administrative and academic duties, including curriculum review and development, teacher training, educational research and data analysis. Before coming to the United States in 2007, Denichou was an elementary school teacher in a French accredited school in Bolivia.

         Denichou hails from Leuhan, France in the Brittany region where he was educated and received his French diploma "Professeur des écoles." After receiving his French teaching credentials, Denichou was the director of a French elementary school where he worked for four years.

         A committee made up of Ecole Bilingue Board members and school administrators conducted an extensive search for the Assistant Principal.  During the recruitment process, Ecole Bilingue received over 50 applications from both the United States and abroad, and subsequently narrowed the pool to ten of the best qualified applicants.

         “The addition of an Assistant Principal position to the Ecole Bilingue’s leadership team will allow us to further develop our very unique bilingual program and advance to the next level,” said Pauline Dides, Principal of Ecole Bilingue. “Mr. Denichou's knowledge and expertise will help us to fulfill our goal of providing the best bilingual education for our students. He is an experienced and skilled leader who we believe will be a great fit for our school’s culture and community.”

         Founded in 1998, Ecole Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans serves more than 235 students from 18 months of age through 7th grade. Ecole Bilingue follows the French National Curriculum and is only private French immersion schools in New Orleans that is accredited by the French Ministry of Education. The school’s experienced teachers come from France, Canada, Africa and the United States. Ecole Bilingue has a proud tradition of providing students with an education that is distinguished by its unique academic approach and supported by a robust and richly diverse student body.
