NEW ORLEANS — On Feb. 1, Drew Brees cut the ribbon on the first Metairie location of Smalls Sliders, a cheeseburger restaurant founded by Brandon Landry. The quick service spot serves shakes, waffle fries and sliders, which can be dunked in special sauces created by esteemed Louisiana chef John Folse.
Owned by Drew Brees, Jason Loezel and Ben Smith, the Metairie store is located at 4580 Veterans Boulevard and features drive-thru and walk-up ordering options.
“We’ve taken a simple idea and taken it to a whole other level,” said Brees. “It’s great to be a part of such a great team and one of the hottest restaurants around. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset, so it’s fun to be able to bring business to New Orleans.”
This is Brees’ first Smalls Sliders location and is the first of 40 openings slated for 2024 across the Southeast. There are “cans” — the company’s nickname for its restaurants — coming soon to Gonzales and Baton Rouge.
Smalls Sliders opened its first restaurant in 2019. It has more than 160 locations open or under development.
