NEW ORLEANS – Author, professor, motivational speaker and clinical psychologist, Dr. Brian L. Turner opens Moments of Truth, LLC, a private practice providing mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and group therapy, at 10001 Lake Forest Blvd., in New Orleans.
Additionally, Moment of Truth, LLC is licensed to conduct workplace trainings, psycho-education, consultation and evaluations and can also structure an Employee Assistance Program for mental health services that can provide gap services that healthcare insurance programs may not provide.
Reps said Dr. Turner is one of the leading African-American male clinical psychologists in the New Orleans metro area with areas of competency including clinical psychology, cultural competency, African-American psychology, urban psychology, humanistic, interpersonal and cognitive behavioral therapy.
In recognizing the need for quality mental healthcare, Dr. Turner seeks to be a leader in the provision of mental healthcare to the people of New Orleans.
“As a Black psychologist from New Orleans, it is troublesome that so many African-Americans are reluctant to make use of psychology's solutions to emotional hurdles,” said Dr. Turner. “I have committed my life and my practice to ensure that our community has access to the services that they need.”
Dr. Turner completed his doctoral training at Jackson State University. He has trained and worked at the University of Akron, The University of West Florida, The Mississippi State Hospital, St. Dominic Hospital, and Brandon P. Romano PsyD. and Associates. He is also the executive clinical director for the Color Gallery, Inc.
He is currently licensed in Louisiana and was previously licensed in Florida.
Dr. Turner’s motto is “Keeping the Faith, Changing Lives, Saving Minds,” and he describes his approach as, “Through my work I seek to blend the experiences, lessons, and chapters of my life into an opportunity that will motivate, educate and activate.
