COVINGTON, La. – The Avala Physician Network welcomes Jason Faucheux, an osteopathic family medicine physician, to its Avala Care clinic in Covington. Beginning Feb. 5, Faucheux will provide wellness and physical exams, immunizations, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
“As a Northshore native, I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to return home and practice at Avala with a great team that believes and sees the value in quality care and collaboration. I’m looking forward to bringing care back to healthcare through a whole-person centered approach offering something unique to the area,” said Faucheux in a press release.
An Avala spokesperson said osteopathy emphasizes the importance of identifying and addressing the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction rather than simply treating the symptoms.
“At Avala, we do whatever it takes to reduce the stress of healthcare. We believe adding Dr. Faucheux to our network and primary care services will serve patients looking for a first-class healthcare solution for preventative and primary care services,” said Dr. Samer Shamieh, Avala chief medical director.
Faucheux is a St. Paul’s School alumnus. He earned his undergraduate degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans before attending medical school at Nova Southeastern University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Laudersale, Fla. He completed his residency in Orlando, Fla., and then served as an Air Force physician for several years.
