NEW ORLEANS – Dan Forman, president and CEO of Dependency Pain Treatment Centers (DPTC), is teaming up with restaurant Poke Loa, 3341 Magazine St., to host a benefit night, Tuesday, June 6, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., where 10 percent of sales will go towards The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®’s (LLS) mission to support and pioneer blood cancer research.
Forman is one of 18 candidates for LLS’ New Orleans’ Inaugural Man & Woman of the Year Campaign, each chosen based on community involvement to compete to raise funds for blood cancer research. Money raised at this event will benefit LLS's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
This benefit night is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to show their support by purchasing dinner from Poke Loa, New Orleans' first and only Poke restaurant, and enjoy entertainment by the New Orleans Cherry Bombs. Poke Loa serves Poke bowls with all local seafood and healthy, high-quality ingredients prepared by trained sushi chefs, restaurant reps said. View the menu here.
LLS is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world, provides free information and support services, and is the voice for all blood cancer patients seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care, reps said. Founded in 1949 and headquartered in Rye Brook, NY, LLS has chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
