NEW ORLEANS — Jerri Daniels, CFM, has been appointed by the Louisiana Floodplain Management Association (LFMA) to the position of Region II representative. In this role, she will serve as the liaison between constituents, LFMA members, and community representatives to enact proper floodplain management practices across Region II.

LFMA serves as a forum for parish and municipal employees, state and federal officials, and the private sector to meet and share experiences, ideas, and solutions to common flooding problems. Region II is made up of the parishes surrounding the Baton Rouge area, including where Daniels lives in eastern Livingston Parish. Daniels is a senior associate with Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, where she is heavily involved in resilience solutions projects across the southeast U.S. She is based in the firm’s New Orleans office and is currently working on floodplain mapping projects for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD).

Daniels earned a master’s in geography from the University of Alabama (2000) and a bachelor’s in biology-environmental science from Auburn University at Montgomery (1998). In addition to her LFMA involvement, she is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), and the Texas Floodplain Management Association.
