NEW ORLEANS – Deutsch Kerrigan, L.L.P. is pleased to announce that the firm has named seven new partners. The new equity partners include attorneys Joseph A. Devall, Melissa M. Lessell, Raymond C. Lewis and Matt Quinlivan and associates Evan J. Bergeron, Cassie Preston Gailmor, and Kari M. Rosamond.
Joseph A. Devall
Joseph A. Devall is a member of the Marine and Energy team in the New Orleans office. He has extensive experience providing transactional and litigation services to clients in the maritime, energy, and insurance sectors and represents companies in defense of Jones Act, LHWCA claims, personal injury claims, and employment claims. He also represents companies and business owners in drafting and negotiating service agreements and charter parties and on corporate organization, governance, succession and ownership matters.
Melissa M. Lessell
Melissa M. Lessell is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Professional Liability Department defending professionals faced with disciplinary actions, ethics investigations, malpractice, negligence and breach of fiduciary duty claims and lawsuits. In addition to handling director and officers’ and derivative actions, she helps her commercial clients defend against claims of premises liability, personal injury and other types of tort and insurance matters, including coverage matters.
Raymond C. Lewis
Raymond C. Lewis is a member of the firm's Civil Litigation team. His practice centers primarily in the areas of complex commercial and business litigation, insurance defense, and appellate work. He has successfully litigated complex commercial disputes for local and national clients involving multi-million dollar claims for breach of contract, product liability, oil and gas disputes, and transportation casualty.
Matt Quinlivan
Matt Quinlivan practices in the firm’s Gulfport, Mississippi office focusing on litigation in both Alabama and Mississippi. His primary areas of practice include defense of claims for professional liability, banking, commercial general liability, catastrophic personal injury, workers' compensation, insurance first party claims including bad faith and fraud investigations, and general civil litigation.
Evan J. Bergeron
Evan J. Bergeron litigates and advises insurance and corporate clients in general civil litigation, general casualty litigation, insurance coverage, insurance fraud investigations, personal injury, and premises liability claims.
Cassie Preston Gailmor
Cassie Preston Gailmor is a member of Deutsch Kerrigan's New Orleans office, practicing in the areas of civil litigation, trucking and transportation, premises liability, and personal injury and also maintains an active commercial collections practice assisting businesses in pursuit of collections on open accounts.
Kari M. Rosamond
Kari M. Rosamond is a member of Deutsch Kerrigan's Marine and Energy department. She helps maritime and energy industry companies defend marine and energy disputes that arise from the nature of their business. In the past year, she has expanded her practice to include Louisiana workers compensation claims.
