NEW ORLEANS — Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) attorney Jay Welch and SLLS were honored with the inaugural Legal Service Innovation Award for the Single Stop legal assistance program at Delgado Community College, which offers free legal help to Delgado students, particularly to remove hurdles to their progress in school and in life.
Welch and SLLS received the Legal Service Innovation Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Access to Justice Committee on Monday, October 12, 2015.
The award recognizes a Louisiana attorney or organization that has developed an innovative program or service that effectively meets the legal needs of vulnerable populations across the state and serves as a model approach for other advocates in the justice community.
