Delgado, Praxair Inc. To Recognize First Graduates Of Skills Pipeline Program

NEW ORLEANS – Delgado Community College and Praxair Inc. will host a graduation celebration today, October 20, 2015, to honor the graduates of the inaugural Praxair Skills Pipeline program, at Delgado’s Student Life Center, 615 City Park Ave., in the 2nd Floor Bayou Lafourche Room, at 6:00 p.m.

         The inaugural $300,000 workforce development program has helped develop an advanced public workforce through skilled welding scholarships.

         Delgado Community College, Baton Rouge Community College and SOWELA Technical College were the first colleges in the United States to implement the new program.

         The Skills Pipeline program was developed and funded by Praxair’s Global Giving Program to help meet the demand for skilled workers and is the most recent example of Praxair's commitment to advancing STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education.

         Those attending should enter the campus from Navarre Avenue and park between the baseball stadium and the Student Life Center.
