NEW ORLEANS – The Delgado Community College Foundation will host the 2024 Roast of the Town fundraising event on Friday, April 19 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, 500 Canal Street. The annual fundraiser supports ongoing student success at Delgado by providing scholarships, support services and other programs for students.
This year’s roastee is Michael Hecht, president and CEO of GNO, Inc. Roasters include:
- U.S. Rep. Troy A. Carter Sr.
- Tara Hernandez, president, JCH Ventures
- Allison Hotard, executive director, Young Leadership Council
- Greg Rusovich, CEO, Transoceanic Development
- Newell Normand, radio host and political commentator
Eric Paulsen, WWL-TV news anchor, will be the master of ceremonies.
“Michael Hecht truly has his finger on the pulse of business needs in the region and GNO, Inc. has been a great partner for the college as we continue to offer and develop quality programs that create the workforce of the future,” said Delgado Community College Chancellor Larissa Littleton-Steib, Ph.D.
“Delgado Community College plays a vital role in local workforce development through its partnerships with employers, certificate programs, and highly transferable academic credits,” said Hecht. “It’s an honor to be this year’s roastee. The Roast of the Town is always a terrific event.”
The Roast of the Town is Delgado’s biggest annual fundraising event. Lee Giorgio, chairman of the Delgado Foundation, noted that “this event funds scholarships that often make the difference in a student’s ability to get an education. Support for the Delgado Foundation helps transform people’s lives and puts highly qualified graduates into the workforce.”
The evening will begin with a reception and silent auction beginning at 7 p.m., followed by dinner and the roast. For more information, or to purchase table packages or tickets, visit https://www.dcc.edu/go/roast/
