Delgado Community College Announces Nearly 100 Additional Fall Classes

NEW ORLEANS — Today’s college students have different lifestyles, different schedules and different priorities. Some want to move through their educational experience as rapidly as possible, while others need a bit more time. Flexible schedules are necessary for many students who hold jobs or have family responsibilities—or both. Recognizing this, Delgado Community College is offering continuing students and new or returning students several options in addition to traditional semester and summer session classes.

Fall semester classes have been underway since mid-August, so the time has passed to enroll and register for those. However, there is still time to enroll and register for minisession and Second Start classes this fall. These compressed classes offer full credit, the same as regular classes. And students who qualify and meet the deadlines may be able to receive financial assistance.

Minisession provides 12-week classes beginning Sept. 11 and ending Nov. 27. In-person classes are offered at the City Park and West Bank campuses and online courses are also available. There are 21 classes on the fall 2017 12-week minisession schedule.

Second Start provides eight-week classes beginning Oct. 4 and ending Nov. 27. Classes are taught during daytime, evening and weekend hours at the City Park Campus, and during daytime at the West Bank Campus—a total of 25 classes. Additionally, more than 45 online classes are offered for Second Start.

Included in the online Second Start classes for fall semester are 14 courses in accounting, business administration and business and management. These are the latest classes to be offered in the Business Fast Track program that enables students to complete their entire degree program online and in less time with less expense. All Business Fast Track online classes last eight weeks.
