NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Southern Decadence Grand Marshals XLI, in partnership with The Chicory and event planner Anthony Leggio, announced DECADENCE SAYS “I DO,” a multi-sensory exploration into the LGBT wedding experience, on Friday, June 26, 2015, from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Chicory, 610 South Peters St.
Attendees will enjoy an open bar, food and a fashion show by local designers while exploring a wedding marketplace that will feature fashionable wedding apparel, epicurean delicacies and musical performances with a LGBT twist.
An after-party will follow at Ernst Café.
“DECADENCE SAYS ‘I DO’ is more than just an opportunity to highlight the array of professionals and vendors that are available to the LGBT community,” Anthony Leggio, a co-presenter and veteran event planner said. “This is a voice of support by the New Orleans wedding and hospitality community for equality in marriage and all other walks of life.”
Proceeds from DECADENCE SAYS “I DO” will benefit LGBT+ Archives Project of Louisiana, Louisiana Equality Foundation and the PFLAG Scholarship fund.
“As 37 states celebrate legal gay marriage and with New Orleans being named one of the top 20 “Best Wedding Destinations of 2015,” by Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, DECADENCE SAYS ‘I DO’ imagines a future where marriage equality is a reality in New Orleans, Louisiana,” Leggio said. “The LGBT community is made up of your family, your friends, your co-workers. Everyone deserves the right to be with someone they love and everyone is welcome to the party.”
As an official pre-event to the Southern Decadence Celebration on Labor Day Weekend, DECADENCE SAYS “I Do” is being co-presented by the Chicory and 2015 Southern Decadence Grand Marshals Steven Mora, Rip and Marsha Naquin-Delain, Misti Ates and Frankie Fierce.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door and $50 for “I DO” VIP tickets, which include a special pre-event meet and greet, gift bag and reserved seating.
