Tomorrow Downtown New Orleans kicks off the holiday season with the annual Canal Street Lighting Ceremony at the Astor Crowne Plaza from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (739 Canal St.). The Downtown Development District, together with the Astor Crowne Plaza will “flip the switch on more than 1 million twinkling lights on the popular street at the same time the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will turn on the lights along Convention Center Boulevard.
The Outlet Collection at the Riverwalk will also be lighting its 50-foot-tall Christmas tree.
Kids who bring an unwrapped toy to donate can join Santa and decorate holiday cookies.
