AMELIA, LA (AP) — Danos, an oilfield services company, says it plans to employ about 500 workers at its new fabrication facility here.
Mark Danos, the company's division manager for construction and fabrication, told the Daily Review’s Harlan Kirgan that over the next couple of years the company plans to hire up to 500 employees for its facility in Amelia. The company recently began leasing 190 acres of property, replacing the previous tenant, McDermott International Inc.
Danos is a family-owned company founded 67 years ago in Lafourche Parish. The company is expanding to Amelia to have access to water.
Mark Danos says the Amelia facility will allow workers to build platforms and send them offshore in modules. He says workers will go install the modules wherever they to need to be placed.
