Dallas Company to Spearhead Le Pavillon Hotel Conversion

NEW ORLEANS — Dallas-based company Premier has announced that it will lead the renovation of Le Pavillon Hotel at 833 Poydras Street. Premier is an architecture, design, procurement, project management and development firm. Ashford Hospitality Trust, which owns Le Pavillon, has entered into a franchise agreement with Marriott International to convert the 226-room hotel into a Tribute Portfolio in the first quarter of 2024.

Built in 1907, Le Pavillon is now a member of Historic Hotels of America.

Premier will lead exterior renovations along with changes to the hotel’s restaurant, guest rooms, guest bathrooms, corridors, and Sazz Bar, which will feature a portrait of Napoleon.

“This exquisite piece will serve as both a homage to the hotel’s historical connections to French culture and a delightful symbol of the lively spirit that characterizes the Crescent City,” said Barbara Carlson, vice president of design at Premier, in a press release. “Overall, this proposed conversion will establish a unique theme and design for this luxury hotel that aligns seamlessly with the distinguished Tribute Portfolio brand.”

The forthcoming Tribute Portfolio property is expected to achieve a RevPAR premium of 10% to 20% when compared to its stabilized pre-conversion performance. Remington Hospitality, the sister company of Premier, will maintain its role as the property manager.

“Given its strategic positioning and close proximity to key drivers of demand in downtown New Orleans, the evolution of this renowned hotel into a Tribute property is poised to propel it into an appealing and distinctive niche within the highly sought-after New Orleans market,” said Hector Sanchez, Premier CEO and head of hotel development at Ashford. “Our unwavering dedication to optimizing asset value drives our anticipation of an improved financial performance following this property’s transformation.”
