NEW ORLEANS – Cox Communications announced that calling people in earthquake-impacted areas in Mexico will be free for all Cox Digital Telephone customers.
The free calling period runs through Oct. 10, and is automatic for all Cox Digital Telephone customers with a Cox Long Distance service plan. Calls include those made to wire line and wireless lines in the impacted areas.
Customers do not need to take any action to receive this discount, Cox reps said. It will automatically be applied to accounts for long distance calling to Mexico City (Ciudad de Mexico), Puebla, Morelos and Chiapas.
Cox also recently offered free and unlimited calling to the Caribbean after Hurricane Irma and made two Spanish language networks, WAPA America and TV Dominicana, available to all Cox video customers where carried following Hurricane Maria.
