Cox Names New Vice President for New Orleans Market, Taps Government and Public Affairs Directors, Manager

NEW ORLEANS— Cox Communications has named Kevin Monroe as its new market vice president for New Orleans. For the past six years, Monroe has successfully overseen operations as Cox’s market vice president of Central Florida. Details were shared in a press release.

During his tenure with Cox, Monroe helped the Central Florida market with strategic planning and restoration following Hurricane Irma. He also championed field alignment initiatives, drove employee engagement programs and provided key support of local product launches such as G1GABLAST, Cox’s 1 gig residential internet service.

Monroe has extensive telecommunications, operations and call center management experience. Prior to joining Cox, he served in various senior leadership positions for Windstream Communications, Nuvox Communications, Florida Digital Networks, and Southwest Airlines.

In addition to Monroe, Cox has also tapped two new directors and a new manager for its Louisiana markets’ public and government affairs team – Sarah Olcott Allen is director of government affairs; Sharon Truxillo is director of public affairs; and James L. Moffett is manager of government affairs.

Allen brings more than 12 years of government affairs experience, spent lobbying, developing and executing policy positions, relationship building and administering political action committees. Previously, Allen worked as the regional director of external and legislative affairs for AT&T Louisiana, where she implemented their legislative strategy.

Truxillo recently served as public affairs manager for Cox in Baton Rouge. Prior to Cox, Truxillo’s more than 20-years as a public relations professional includes serving as press secretary for two U.S. Congressmen and as a media strategist and leader for not-for-profits and private companies.

Moffett joins Cox after serving for the past two years as an associate at Adams and Reese, LLP, specializing in executive municipal bond transactions and finance. Moffett’s 15-year career includes working for GNO, Inc. as a senior associate of Business Development and Expansion, an externship with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as well as an attorney and financial analyst in private practice.
