Cox Media, Cox Communications Names New Vice Presidents

BATON ROUGE – Cox Media has announced that Scott Burton will serve as its new vice president of sales for its Louisiana markets. And, Cox Communications has named Larry Dexter as its new vice president of field engineering and operations for its Southeast Region.

Burton transitions to Louisiana after serving as vice president of sales for Cox Media in Florida and Georgia.

Prior to joining Cox, Burton spent four years as the regional advertising director of The News and Advance in Lynchburg, Va.  He is an accomplished sales executive and manager with over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing for television, newspaper and digital advertising.

In his role with Cox Media, Burton will lead a team of sales professionals in Cox’s Acadiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans markets.  Burton is a graduate of Roanoke College with a Bachelor of Business Administration. 

A 15-year Cox veteran, Dexter spent the last decade heading Cox’s Field Engineering & Operations Department in the company’s Central region. He also has more than twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry. As the new head of field services in the Southeast Region, he will be responsible for residential and commercial field operations and services in Louisiana, Florida and Georgia.

Dexter holds a Master of Business Administration from Boston University and an undergraduate degree from Florida State University. He a decorated naval aviator, retired from the United States Navy.
