Copeland’s of New Orleans Celebrates 40th Anniversary

NEW ORLEANS – On Nov. 17, Copeland’s of New Orleans will celebrate its 40th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the restaurant is hosting a series of promotions and special events

“I’m incredibly excited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Copeland’s of New Orleans and to continue my father’s legacy,” said Al Copeland Jr., son of Copeland’s and Popeyes founder Al Copeland, in a press release. “It’s been an adventure filled with passion, dedication and a deep love for our community. We’re grateful for the support we’ve received over the years, and we look forward to creating even more memorable moments with our valued patrons in the years to come.”

In 1972, the senior Copeland opened his first Popeyes location in Arabi. He began franchising the concept in 1976 and added about 500 outlets over the next 10 years. He launched the first Copeland’s in 1983. At the brand’s peak, there were about 40 locations. Now, there are 16 Copeland’s throughout the region. They are a mix of franchises and corporate-owned restaurants.
