NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Construction is set to begin on the new Cambria hotel & suites New Orleans in the Warehouse District.
Scheduled to open in 2017, The New Orleans Advocate reports the 162-room hotel will include amenities such as a contemporary bistro, an art fitness center and 1,200 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel will be developed and operated by Fillmore Hospitality. Plans initially called for turning a surface parking lot at 632 Tchoupitoulas into a $35 million 75-foot-high hotel. But following opposition from neighbors, the developers scaled back the project to 65 feet.
Fillmore owns and operates the Maison Dupuy Hotel on Toulouse Street and the New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway on Causeway Boulevard. Cambria is a brand under the Choice Hotels umbrella.
