Construction To Begin On New Hotel In Warehouse District

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Construction is set to begin on the new Cambria hotel & suites New Orleans in the Warehouse District.

Scheduled to open in 2017, The New Orleans Advocate reports the 162-room hotel will include amenities such as a contemporary bistro, an art fitness center and 1,200 square feet of meeting space.

The hotel will be developed and operated by Fillmore Hospitality. Plans initially called for turning a surface parking lot at 632 Tchoupitoulas into a $35 million 75-foot-high hotel. But following opposition from neighbors, the developers scaled back the project to 65 feet.
