PLAQUEMINE, LA (AP) — Iberville Parish President J. Mitchell Ourso tells the parish council he is not pleased with some of the construction work being done on a $20 million medical facility.
The Advocate’s Terry L. Jones reports Ourso will conduct another walk-through inspection before he signs off on the project's completion.
Ourso says despite his displeasure with some of the "finishing touches" on the medical complex, currently under construction on a 27-acre site off Louisiana Highway 1 in Plaquemine, it shouldn't delay the project's completion date or jack up building costs.
Ourso didn't go into specific details about his complaints about the project's construction Tuesday night, but said he questioned the quality of some of the materials the contractor used on the facility.
