NEW ORLEANS – Since opening in June 2015 Compère Lapin, Chef Nina Compton’s New Orleans restaurant in the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery, has received critical acclaim including a rave review in The New York Times and “Best New Restaurants” nods by New Orleans Magazine and Times-Picayune. In celebration of its first year in business, Compère Lapin will host a special Anniversary prix fixe dinner on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, and a festive Anniversary brunch on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year already, it’s been such an incredible ride,” says Compton. “We’re so grateful to everyone that has supported us and are looking forward to year number two.”
On Wednesday, June 1, Compton will offer a special four course prix fixe dinner, available from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. only. Priced at $65 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), the menu will feature Compère Lapin favorites including cold smoked tuna tartare with avocado and crispy bananas; curried goat with sweet potato gnocchi; the famed hot fire chicken (normally only available at lunch); and roasted banana zeppole with rum caramel. Optional wine pairing will be available for only $30.
Guests can also enjoy a special a la carte brunch on Saturday, June 4. Available from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., diners can feast on dishes such as chicken and smoked mushroom hash with poached egg; coconut French toast with pecan-rum sauce; goat Bolognese with cavatelli and ricotta; and housemade beignets with a spiced chocolate sauce. For imbibers, savvy bar manager Abigail Gullo will whip up a boozy anniversary punch.
Compère Lapin is located at 535 Tchoupitoulas St. and serves lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; light bites from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Happy Hour from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.; and dinner nightly from 5:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.. Valet parking is $5 and municipal parking is available.
