MANDEVILLE, LA – The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation (STEDF) has hired Julie Landry as a communications specialist.
“We will place increasing focus on social media and print publications this year,” Brenda Bertus, CEO of STEDF, said. “With this new position, we hope to increase our online presence, improve the quality of our reports and better help St. Tammany to connect with our organization and our staff.”
Prior to arriving in St. Tammany Parish, Landry covered the crime and safety beat as a reporter for The News-Star in Monroe, LA. She also worked as a staff writer and editor in the Office of Public Information for the University of Louisiana at Monroe. An annual spring magazine featuring her writing contributions won a regional award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
Landry graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a MA in English concentrated in creative fiction and a BA in both English and Spanish. As a student, Julie won the Sigma Delta Pi Gabriela Mistral Award and the Outstanding Student Award, as well as the Student Worker Team of the Year Award with her English tutoring peers.
Julie is a New Orleans native and graduated from Mount Carmel Academy as a 2007 Ragdoll.
STEDF leads economic development in St. Tammany Parish, attracting new businesses and employment opportunities to the area. The organization seeks to improve parish residents’ quality of life by strengthening and supporting the business climate.
